Parties to the STCW Convention & Regulatory Verification
Under Regulation I/10 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW 1978 as amended), flag administrations endorse certificates issued by other governments only after confirming that full effect is given to the requirements concerning competence and quality standards.
What is a CRA (Certificate of Receipt of Application)?
A CRA is an official statutory document issued by the flag administration under STCW I/10 paragraph 5. It confirms that a valid application for endorsement has been submitted and authorizes the officer to serve on board the flag state’s vessels for a maximum period of 3 months while the permanent parchment is engraved.
